👨🎓 👩🎓 Preparing for your return to university, a gamble?

🏄 The university is a special world: it is a microcosm that has a very friendly appearance. The atmosphere is jovial, the spaces welcoming, and on this eve of the start of the school year, the faculties are crossed from one end to the other by small groups of young people who wander around, with the aim of finalizing their registration files. Summer lingers... before the long days of classes that will start at 8 a.m. and which will see masses of students rushing in.

📚 This is a new adventure that begins for you.... Are you ready to experience this change and this symbolic entry into the "time of studies"?

Being well prepared means having planned and anticipated a certain number of "details"

  1. Know the places

  2. Getting to know the library

  3. Understanding your schedule

  4. Actively anticipate your return to school

  1. Know the places

🏫 It's first of all knowing the places: identifying the buildings, locating the different departments, understanding the logic of numbering the rooms and lecture halls, knowing where the administrative offices and teachers' offices are; knowing where to eat, where to park (spaces are expensive...), where to get off the bus or tram 🚌 , etc. And all this before the start of the school year!

2. Get familiar with libraries

🏛 📗 It's also about familiarizing yourself with a crucial place on campus, where you should normally find yourself quite often...: the library(ies) related to your discipline. Understand how they work, make an appointment for a guided tour, discover the Dewey classification, the accessible digital tools, etc.

3. Understand your schedule

😴 It is also about being aware of your schedule: clearly distinguishing the subjects taught, making an effort to identify and remember the names of the professors 👨🎨; going to consult the content of the courses and the associated bibliographies on the department's website, borrowing and reading, even before the start of the courses, the recommended general works.

4. Actively anticipate the start of the school year

🏃 🏋 And if your goal is to get your exams at the end of the semester ( 😜 ), then you have to agree to put on a costume that is no longer that of the High School Student (very nice, but it's better to change it...). If you aim for success, in the middle of the flood of registrants, you will have to distinguish yourself by your anticipation of exams, your sense of organization (of the work to be done and the moments of rest in the weekly rhythm); your pugnacity but above all your curiosity and your taste for reading and writing (so much to say on this last point... in another post).

Are you ready to enter higher education? 😁
